Doppler measurement of vortex vein blood flow in animals.

چکیده
The blood flow teas measured continuously in the intact vortex vein of the anesthetized rabbit using an ultrasonic Doppler -flowmeter toith a frequency response of approximately 4 Hz. Blood flow correlated well ivith perfusion pressure (arterial pressure minus intraocular pressure). The intraocidar pressure was changed stepwise by perfusion from a saline reservoir, Tonometry teas performed tuith the eye connected to the reservoir and with the valve to the reservoir closed. Blood fioto decreased with decreasing perfusion pressure in all cases.

متن کاملI-46: Obstetrical Doppler
Accurate assessment of gestational age, fetal growth, and the detection of fetal and placental abnormalities are major benefits of sonography. Color Doppler can be used to assist in the identification of vascular architecture, detection of vascular pathology and visualization of blood flow changes associated with physiologic processes and disease states. The clinical applications of obstetrical...

متن کاملPresentation of a Non-invasive Method of Estimating Arterial Stiffness by Modeling Blood Flow and Arterial Wall Based on the Determination of Elastic Module of Arterial Wall
Introduction: Arterial stiffness is an important predictor of cardiovascular risk. Several indices have been introduced to estimate the arterial stiffness based on the changes in the brachial blood pressure. Since the substitution of the blood pressure changes in the central arteries such as carotid with the blood pressure changes in the brachial results in error in the blood...
متن کاملImaging Features of Varix of the Vortex Vein Ampulla:A Small Case Series
Most of the blood from the iris, ciliary body and choroid is drained by the vortex vein lying behind the equator in each quandrant of the eye. About half of the vortex veins show dilatations of varying sizes and shapes which are referred to as the vortex vein ampullae [1]. Occasionally, an unusually large dilatation of the vortex vein ampulla can be found by fundus examination and sometimes mis...
